2 Brothers Stabbed to Death in New York City

Police say that two brothers, a baby 11 months old and a boy 3 years old, were stabbed to death in New York City.

The two boys were found in an apartment building in the Bronx late Saturday night. Their necks and torsos had “multiple stab wounds,” the New York Police Department said. The kids were taken to the hospital, but they both ended up dying there.

NYPD Deputy Chief Louis Deceglie told reporters that police were called about 7:30 p.m. Saturday about a person who was having emotional problems.

The NYPD said in a statement that officers took a woman into custody, and an ambulance took her to a hospital for an evaluation. City records say that the apartment building is a place for families to stay.

Deceglie said that when police responded to the first 911 call, a friend of the family told them that the woman’s children were with their father. When CNN asked for more information about how long it took for the officers to respond to the 911 calls, the police refused to say more.

Half an hour later, the police got another call about an emergency. “A second 911 call said that babies who were not moving or breathing were at the same place,” Deceglie said.

Ad Feedback: “When police went back to the apartment, they found a baby boy who was 11 months old and a boy who was 3 years old who were both unresponsive and had been stabbed multiple times.”

The boys’ mother, who is 22, is being held by police, and the investigation is still going on. The father of the boys is not being held by the police.

The mother hasn’t been named as a suspect in public, and police say she hasn’t been arrested or charged with anything.
