After Lily’s corpse was discovered topless, Judge Paul Thomas QC dismissed Haines’ contention that the murder was sexual. “But I’m sure Lily opted to go home to see her mother.”

“If nothing else, she made it obvious to her mother during the phone call that she did not want her relationship with Lewis Haines to progress to a point where they would engage in sexual activity.” Haines, who was intoxicated, was probably disappointed by this since he had hoped and expected it to continue.

At 2:47 am, Lily called her mother and said: “As soon as possible, ma’am. I have left. I will be there in a few minutes. I’m almost there.” Lily’s mother, Anna Sullivan, waiting to pick her up at the neighboring Green Garage, tried phoning her back 30 times before the phone was cut off.

Haines walked down the street to the teen’s mother, Anna, who had been frantically calling her daughter from the nearby garage where she had parked as she departed the scene, leaving the infant in the sea. She was supposed to collect her child and a friend at two in the morning. However, they were late.

When Haines began to “act oddly” around 3.09 am, Mrs. Sullivan unintentionally observed him “stepping lightly, swinging his arms.”

The cream lace crop top she was seen wearing that night wasn’t any longer on her since she had been murdered.

Lily was Anna Sullivan’s only daughter. She revealed she had to go through 14 miscarriages before being blessed with the birth of Lily.

Mrs Sullivan said her life will forever be on pause until her time comes and she can be reunited with her daughter.
