After video surfaced that appears to show the moments leading up to Ahmad Arbery’s death, many questions surfaced about the men involved – Gregory and Travis McMichael.

Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael get life sentences for hate crimes in Ahmaud Arbery killing
A judge on Monday sentenced the first two of three men convicted of federal hate crime charges connected to the February 2020 murder of Ahmaud Arbery.
Jurors in February found father and son Greg and Travis McMichael and their neighbor, William “Roddie” Bryan, guilty of charges including interference with rights and attempted kidnapping due to Arbery’s race. Arbery, 25, was Black. The McMichaels and Bryan are white.
Additionally, a judge mandated that Travis McMichael serve his sentence in a state jail rather than a federal one as his lawyer had sought.
The 25 years old, Arbery was being chased by him and two other neighborhood men in trucks around their community in coastal Georgia. As per NBC News, the men cornered Arbery after they saw him jogging past their homes.
And Travis fatally shot him with a shotgun. Another accomplice, Roddie Brayan, recorded the tragic incident on his phone. Their crime came to light when the video was released online, prompting national attention.
Netizens have thanked the court for providing justice for the victim. Moreover, everyone awaits how the other two accomplices will be sentenced.
Their convictions came months after they were convicted on murder charges in state court.
Travis McMicheal was sentenced to serve a life sentence plus 10 years. Greg McMichael was sentenced to life in prison plus seven years. Bryan will be sentenced at a 3 p.m. hearing, court records show.

Speaking before his sentencing, Greg McMichael apologized to his son, Travis McMichael, and his wife, and told Ahmaud’s family that he “never wanted any of this to happen.”
“There was no malice in my heart or in my son’s heart that day,” he said. “I pray that God’s peace will come to the Arbery family and this entire community.”
Greg McMichael’s attorney, A.J. Balbo, emphasized that his client is a 66-year-old man with health issues who served in the military and in law enforcement and asked for leniency.
“Any sentence this court metes out today will likely be a life sentence for Mr. McMichael,” he said.

Travis has a wife named Nicole Joyner. he shares a son with her named Evertt McMichael. He was a former Coast Guard member, whereas his dad served as a GCPD officer from 1982 to 1989.
Later, Greg also worked as an investigator for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office from 1995 until his retirement in May 2019.
For now, the only people at their home are Travis’s mother, his spouse, and his son. His wife does not appear in public much and remains low-key. Thus, there are not many details about her on the internet.
