Utah mom Megan Huntsman admitted to killing 6 babies after giving birth case occurred- Where is she now?
Megan Huntsman was arrested a year after six bodies were found in cardboard boxes in the garage of her former house.
In February 2015 she pleaded guilty to six counts of murder.
A judge in the city of Provo gave her the maximum sentence of at least 30 years and up to life in prison.
Police said that the babies were born between 1996 and 2006 and were suffocated or strangled by Huntsman immediately after birth.
They said she put the bodies in plastic bags and packed them in boxes in the garage of her home in Pleasant Grove, about 45 miles (75km) south of Salt Lake City.
The six newborn kids survived for less than two minutes each before their mother, who was lost in a haze of desperation and addiction, put her thumbs to their necks and suffocated them.
At Megan Huntsman’s sentencing hearing on Monday, Pleasant Grove police investigator Dan Beckstrom stated, “She remembered using a hair tie one time.. to be sure.” Prosecutors questioned, “Why?”

Darren West started cleaning out the garage at the house he and Megan Huntsman used to share. He was never ready for the thing he discovered. The tiny, decomposing body of an infant lay inside a little, white box, covered in plastic.
In episode 56, Hunter dives into the topic of postpartum depression, parental detachment, and one of the worst cases of infanticide in the United States. This is the story of Megan Huntsman. #murderandsuch #podernfamily #MeganHuntsman https://t.co/UUqfRFLVNa

West contacted the cops right away. They examined the house and discovered six additional dead infants stashed in crates in the garage. Megan was being questioned by police while they searched the garage.
She initially claimed that the baby in the bag was stillborn, having been delivered shortly after her husband was sentenced to prison. She claimed she hid the body because she was at a loss for what to do.
However, approximately an hour into the interview, authorities at the location reported the discovery of a second infant, according to Beckstrom.
Megan Huntsman Jail Sentence & Mugshot
Police said Huntsman had been a heavy methamphetamine user and “didn’t want the babies”.
In court papers she said she wanted to take responsibility for the deaths.
Officials said Mr West was the father of the babies but he was not a suspect in the case. He and Huntsman have three other children together.
In April 2014 he had just been released after serving eight years in prison for drug crimes and was retrieving some of his belongings from the house when he made the gruesome discovery.
Judge Darold McDade of the Fourth District issued an injunction against three of the defendants. Prosecutors invited Beckstrom to appear at the court because they said the complete story had never been revealed.
She was anticipated to serve at least 15 years in jail. The sentencing brings a conclusion to a case that has enthralled the nation and rocked Huntsman’s little Pleasant Grove town.

“We wanted the judge to understand what Megan chose to do before he made his judgment, so we were able to provide him a synopsis of everything we did to comprehend what Megan opted to do.”
She must be behind the bar still. As per an article released earlier, the state will keep Huntsman until at least 2064.
