The Megan Huntsman Case Update On Reddit – Wikipedia Bio

Darren West started cleaning out the garage at the house he and Megan Huntsman used to share. He was never ready for the thing he discovered. The tiny, decomposing body of an infant lay inside a little, white box, covered in plastic.

West contacted the cops right away. They examined the house and discovered six additional dead infants stashed in crates in the garage. Megan was being questioned by police while they searched the garage.

She initially claimed that the baby in the bag was stillborn, having been delivered shortly after her husband was sentenced to prison. She claimed she hid the body because she was at a loss for what to do.

However, approximately an hour into the interview, authorities at the location reported the discovery of a second infant, according to Beckstrom.

Megan Huntsman Jail Sentence & Mugshot

Megan Huntsman pleaded guilty in February to six counts of felony murder. She will spend at least 30 years in prison before she is eligible for parole.
“I really thought I had seen it all until this case,” Judge Darold McDade said during sentencing on Monday.
Utah authorities were called to a Pleasant Grove residence a year ago after Huntsman’s estranged husband, Darren West, found a baby wrapped in a plastic bag in the garage. Police eventually found the bodies of seven infants.

Police said Huntsman had been a heavy methamphetamine user and “didn’t want the babies”.

In court papers she said she wanted to take responsibility for the deaths.

Officials said Mr West was the father of the babies but he was not a suspect in the case. He and Huntsman have three other children together.

In April 2014 he had just been released after serving eight years in prison for drug crimes and was retrieving some of his belongings from the house when he made the gruesome discovery.

Megan Huntsman  pled guilty to six counts of first-degree murder in February. She was sentenced to six years to life in prison for murdering the babies between 1996 and 2006, then packing and burying their bodies in her garage for years.

Judge Darold McDade of the Fourth District issued an injunction against three of the defendants. Prosecutors invited Beckstrom to appear at the court because they said the complete story had never been revealed.

She was anticipated to serve at least 15 years in jail. The sentencing brings a conclusion to a case that has enthralled the nation and rocked Huntsman’s little Pleasant Grove town.

Where Is Megan Huntsman Now?

In Megan Huntsman’s case, Beckstrom said after the hearing, “We did want to make sure that (the judge) knew all that we dealt with.”

“We wanted the judge to understand what Megan chose to do before he made his judgment, so we were able to provide him a synopsis of everything we did to comprehend what Megan opted to do.”

She must be behind the bar still. As per an article released earlier, the state will keep Huntsman until at least 2064.
