Among many cold and unsolved murder cases, Lynsie Ekelund of Santa Clarita, a Fullerton College student, remains were found by the cops in early November 2010.

The mother of missing California college student Lynsie Ekelund was shocked to learn authorities have likely found the remains of her handicapped daughter who disappeared nearly 10 years ago.

Who Was Lynsie Ekelund Of California?

Born on July 22, 1980, Lynsie was 20 years old when she went missing on Feb. 17, 2001. Her birthday passed just a week ago, and she would have turned 42 years old if she had been alive.

Ekelund lived with her mother, Nancy Ekelund, in Placentia. She was partially paralyzed following a car crash as a kid.

Lynsie was partially disabled from a car accident when she was 5 years old. Inside the courtroom, her father and a friend spoke of a young woman who had overcome tragedy, someone who was giving, loving and outgoing.

The young Lynsie became the victim of the murder in 2001. Her mother, Nancy, waited for her to return home until one day, cops called to inform her that they had found Lynsie’s belongings like her clothing and remains in Santa Clarita, California.

Indeed, the mother is heartbroken by hearing about the tragic death of her daughter. However, her daughter finds justice, and the culprit is rotten behind the bar for the disgusting crime.

Lynsie Ekelund’s Missing Case Update 2022

Lynsie Ekelund’s missing case is finally solved after waiting for a decade. Investigators said she vanished in 2001 after going to San Diego with McAmis and two fellow Fullerton College students on Feb. 17, 2001.

McAmis was the person of interest from the beginning, but due to lack of evidence, police had to wait this long until they got strong evidence. He pleaded no guilty until 2010.

The 31-year-old Fullerton construction worker Chris McAmis was charged with her murder and sentenced to jail without bail. He confronted his crime after police showed up fresh evidence of ATM footage in front of him.

According to NBC News, it took nearly nine years to figure out what happened to Lynsie Ekelund, the expertise of a cold case investigator on the dateline, “The Evidence Whisperer,” Josh Mankiewicz reports.

Chris McAmis Arrested Over Lynsie Ekelund Murder Charges In 2010

After years of denials, interrogations and two inconclusive polygraph tests, investigators found new evidence in October 2010. When confronting McAmis, he confessed to strangling the 20-year-old Fullerton College student at his Whittier apartment, then driving 50 miles to Santa Clarita to bury her body at a construction site where he had worked.

Chris McAmis strangled her to death while sexually assaulting her; Chris confessed to the cops .

Although Lynsie is no longer alive in this world, her well-wishers wish her on her birthday and death anniversary.

Nonetheless, Lynsie’s cause of death is announced as a homicide.

Did you know? Lynsie’s birth name is Lynsie Leigh Ekelund.

As per the reports, Christopher McAmis, then 31, was an unemployed construction worker with a young family.
