According to a Tybee Island arrest report, 50-year-old George Perry Lee, a pastor with St. John Baptist Church in Savannah, Ga., was arrested just before 4 p.m. on Saturday and charged with drug possession including MDMA, THC oil and mushrooms. Lee was also charged with intent to distribute or sell marijuana and traffic violations.

According to St. John Baptist Church website, Pastor Lee has a Ph.D. in African American Chruch Studies and began his service to the St. John Baptist church, also known as “The Mighty Fortress” in 2005.

Lee’s lawyer, Mark Andrew Tate said Lee was driving someone else’s car.

He does a whole lot more good than something that seems to be a judgment by some when he’s driving somebody else’s car at the wrong place at the wrong time, said Tate.

Graham, according to his social media page, identifies as a minister and is a musician, “known to travel to various churches in Jacksonville, Florida, and Douglas.”

On Wednesday morning, Graham was apprehended by the Coffee County Drug Unit on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service and taken to the Coffee County Jail. He remains in custody awaiting extradition back to Jacksonville, Florida, per officials.

According to the JCSO, Graham has been charged with Sexual Battery, Kidnapping, and Lewd and Lascivious Battery. Graham’s Facebook page states that he is a “Gospel artist, worship leader, minstrel, and psalmist.”

JCSO stated they are currently seeking additional information from the public to help identify any other potential victims. Officials encourage anyone with information that can assist in the investigation to please contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Special Assault Unit at 904-630-2168 or email [email protected].

This is Lee’s second arrest. In 2018, the local pastor was arrested and charged with a DUIand failure to yield, according to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.
