A manhunt is underway in Tennessee for the 32-year-old black male, BJ Brown.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, BJ Brown, 32, shot and killed a woman just before 9:30 a.m. Monday (June 27) in the Iberville Housing Development on Bienville Street.
The woman was shot multiple times and transported to a hospital where she later died, police say.
Haunting cell phone video of the killing was captured from a nearby apartment window and widely shared on social media.
In a video footage, a man identified as Brown approaches a female victim who has already been shot and is lying lifeless in a parking lot. He pulls out an AR-15 rifle and fires two more rounds into her body.

Brown is now being sought by the New Orleans Police Department on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting that claimed a life on June 27 in the 1400 block of Iberville Street.
Who Is BJ Brown From Tennessee? Suspect Of Casandra Jones Murder
BJ Brown is responsible for both the attempted first-degree murder of a police officer and the murder of Casandra Jones.
As she was making her way to the First City Court in New Orleans for work, Casandra Jones was shot multiple times in the Iberville Housing Development on Bienville Street.
Weeks before she was shot dead in a downtown New Orleans parking lot, Cassandra Jones filed for a restraining order against BJ Brown, who is now wanted on a charge of killing her but who fled to Tennessee and allegedly shot a small-town police officer during a traffic stop.
Brown, 32, and Jones, 48, had a years-long relationship, punctuated by allegations of abuse, before he allegedly killed her execution-style with an assault-style rifle on Monday morning in the 1400 block of Iberville Street, according to police and court records. Police soon obtained a warrant to arrest Brown and book him with second-degree murder.
Police said that after receiving multiple gunshot wounds, the woman was taken to a hospital, where she eventually passed away.

As mentioned above, BJ Brown is a 32-year-old black man with brown eyes and black hair. Weighing 152 pounds, he stands at a height of 5’6”.
He is listed as W096879002 in the electronic database of the National Crime Information Center. A Tennessee Blue Alert has been sent out statewide for BJ Brown by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Both the Erin Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are seeking Brown for the attempted first-degree murder of a police officer. The TBI has asked that anyone with knowledge of Brown’s whereabouts call them at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
BJ Brown history of abuse
He’d run from law enforcement as recently as this spring, when Jones called 911 to report a beating at Brown’s hands. In a petition for a restraining order that she filed May 4 in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, Jones detailed the alleged abuse, including punching, choking, kicking, sexual abuse, threats of bodily harm and financial intimidation.
She wrote that on April 27 at around 3:30 a.m., Brown came to her apartment in the 1400 block of Bienville Street, where the two argued — Jones asking Brown not to wake her up so late at night when she had work the following morning, and Brown bragging about how much money he was saving, the document said. She identified Brown in the petition as a “current or former” dating partner.
“I then told Mr. Brown he got to get out my house and go disrespect the next female,” Jones wrote. “Mr. Brown then took off his belt and began swinging it at me.”
Brown struck Jones with the belt multiple times, bruising her body, but it was not the first time he’d caused her injury, the petition said. In the past he punched her and knocked her teeth out when she confronted him about “a female he was messing with, because I find out about it,” she wrote.

Although police enforcers have been looking for BJ Brown since June 27, they have not yet apprehended him for Cassandra Jones’ murder.
He is sought after by the NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad and U.S. marshals. The Nashville NBC affiliate WSMV reports that Brown is also wanted in connection with the Monday night shooting of a police officer in Erin, Tennessee.
The TBI claims that at about 9 p.m. on Monday, an officer was conducting a traffic stop in the city of Erin, 65 miles west of Nashville.
Brown pulled over and exited his car before firing into the officer’s car, injuring him, according to Erin Police Chief Mark Moore.

The officer was transported to a hospital and remains in stable condition.
Canine units and helicopters have been searching for Brown in the area of Highway 149, between Old Highway 149 and Pitts Loop. Residents are asked to avoid the area and to report any suspicious activity or people by calling 911.
