Sgt. Paul Veitch, the public relations officer for the Saratoga Springs Police Department, confirmed to Horse Racing Nation that Brown was taken into custody on Wednesday night.
He declared that while Brown was being arraigned, he was being kept in Saratoga Springs City Court.
The court was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. EDT, but Veitch was unable to say whether or when Brown might appear. Veitch claims that the charge is a misdemeanor.
The top trainer at Saratoga this summer is 43-year-old Brown, a native of nearby Mechanicville, New York, who has 27 victories from 110 races and purse prizes totaling $3,310,020.
Between 2016 and 2019, he won four training championships at Saratoga and four consecutive Eclipse Awards as the nation’s top trainer. When Early Voting took first place in the Preakness this year, Brown won his second American classic.
