NCAA says Casey Pruitt paid players for Tennessee football. Here’s what we know
Casey Pruitt, the wife of former Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt, was implicated in multiple NCAA recruiting violations in the notice of allegations presented Friday to the university.
The NCAA lists 18 Level I infractions, the highest in the four-tier system of violations, in the 51-page report obtained by Knox News.
Jeremy Pruitt bears direct or ultimate responsibility for all of them, according to the NCAA. But seeing a coach’s wife appear among the alleged violations is rare and eye-opening, especially because she previously worked in NCAA compliance offices.

Who Is Casey Pruitt? Coach Jeremy Pruitt And Wife Fired
An allegation against Casey stated that she and her husband Jeremy had violated the law and spent almost $60,000 of cash or gifts provided to players and their families.
In 2013, the Pruitts met at Florida State. He was the Seminoles’ defensive coordinator, and she worked in the NCAA compliance office. Casey was tasked with verifying eligibility of student-athletes and ensuring the athletic department followed NCAA rules.
Casey also worked in the compliance office as a graduate student at Troy University and also in the Oklahoma athletic department.
The notice was released on Friday stating the involvement of the coach, his wife, and the recruiting staff in the case. as a result of the allegations, coast Jeremy Pruitt has been fired from his job.

In a separate violation, the NCAA says Casey Pruitt arranged for a real estate agent to meet with a recruit’s family.
The gifts were provided from the prospect’s recruitment and were continued after he started playing for the Tennessee Volunteers.

The Pruitts married on May 24, 2014, exactly one year after he proposed. They shared a love of football and a talent for recruiting.
“I knew what his life was like and he knew what my life was like,” Casey told Knox News in an August 2018 interview. “I was really heavily involved in recruiting at Florida State, and I think he liked how I talked to the players and the parents.
Casey ensured the athletic department followed NCAA rules and verified student-athlete’s eligibility. She also worked as a graduate student at Troy University in the compliance office and Oklahoma athletic department.
