The victim is Babalo Ndwayana, who can be heard in the now-viral video reprimanding Theuns for his actions. The event occurred on Sunday in a room shared by Ndwayana and a friend of Du Toit’s at the Huis Marais dormitory on campus.
Babalo is shocked by the incident, and he is receiving counseling for now. The university said that they would provide him with any kind of assistance that was needed and would not let his studies hamper.

Stellenbosch University suspends Theuns du Toit
In response to the mounting backlash on campus and social media, the Stellenbosch institution released a statement, on Monday, confirming “the alleged perpetrator was suspended from the University today.”
“A further swift but detailed investigation will determine the final outcomes. Expulsion and/or criminal charges are not excluded from the possible available options, based on the investigation’s findings,” the statement read.
Du Toit was caught on camera urinating on a black first-year student’s study desk, which held his course work, textbooks and a laptop.
The video caused a racial outcry, and the university suspended him for the time being.
Theuns du Toit could be expelled and criminally charged, the university confirmed. However, they are yet to decide whether to expel him or not. They said that the final decision would be determined by a thorough inquiry, and expulsion or criminal charges were not ruled out as possible depending on the findings.
And the public has already started signing the petition to expel the student. Over 33k people have signed the petition to expel him.

Was Theuns Du Toit Arrested?
Theuns Du Toit has not been arrested yet. However, he was suspended from the university before the investigation was over.
Stellies Rector and Vice-Chancellor Professor Wim de Villiers made it categorically clear that the university was appalled by the behaviour and “such conduct will not be tolerated”.
“We acted swiftly and decisively to uphold our commitment to a culture of inclusivity. What happened at Huis Marais is not acceptable. No student has the right to diminish another student’s human dignity or rights in this way,” he said.
The SA Students Congress’s (Sasco) Stellenbosch branch said that expulsion and potential criminal charges would be an injustice because such actions should get a severe punishment, as per Times Live.
They said that they want to protect the right of every student, especially the marginalized community. Thus, the relevant authorities should help the victim to get justice.
Theuns Du Toit must be
•Expelled
•Banned from ALL universities for the next 10 years
•And the family must be publicly shamedThe consequence for acts of racism has to be severe.
