1 shot, 1 stabbed after high school basketball game in East Point

One person was shot and one person was stabbed Friday night following a high school basketball game in East Point, according to police.

The altercation happened at Tri-Cities High School following a game between them and Banneker High School. East Point Police said they heard gunshots in the area and found that a person was shot as people were exiting the high school following the game.

The victim was rushed to Grady Hospital where he is in critical condition, according to a Fulton County Schools spokesperson.

A spokesperson with Fulton County Schools cannot confirm if the two injured teenagers are students at Tri-Cities High School, but can confirm students from the school were involved in the incident.

The basketball game at the school on Friday night was between Tri-Cities High School and Benjamin Banneker High School.

Police are still looking for the suspects. There is no word on what led up to both incidents.

Fulton County Schools Police are also investigating a stabbing that left one person seriously injured at Tri-Cities High School that took place after the game. It’s unsure at this time if the shooting and stabbing are connected, police said.
